Partitive expressions with uncountable nouns

Partitive expressions make it possible to count things expressed by uncountable nouns. The most common ones include bit, piece and item:

There was a bit of annoyance in his voice.
Let me give you a piece of advice.
Several items of jewellery were stolen.

Other examples of everyday partitive expressions are:
